Challenge: Sensing Health

Sensing health and disease

Description

Data gathering on its own can be a strong tool to monitor health status on population and individual level. Monitoring for example user data from Apps like Apple Health will yield passive information on physical activity and life style. Determining biologically relevant biomarkers and integration of biomarker measurement with sensot technology in wearbles (watch / glasses etc.) could be the next step and conceptual applications have already been developed. However, currently the applications are limited to e.g. measurement of blood pressure and heart rate. Here we propose to use current app technology and combine it with sensoring and biomarker technology.

Teams: We expect the contestants to form a team of at least five and maximal ten persons

Please consult the website http://www.innovativetesting.nl/cpchallenge for additional information on the challenge, last-minute changes or cases will also be posted here

Evaluation Criteria
Innovative potential, Application of existing technology, Commercial Application and revenues,
Implementation and impact are the most import criteria for successful completion of this challenge

Proces information
The challege will be generally introduced by a keynote spreaker that will provide a general overview of the field of wearable sensors and will provide a few examples on how this technology is already and can be implemented. A coach will facilitate a getting to know each other per group. During a technology ‘work shop’ we will introduce existing technology and we will explain the resources that can be used. The contestants are required to prepare a pitch on the end of day 1 and on the end of day 2. During the first pitch focus will be on collaboration in the group and the conceptual presentation of the solution. The second pitch will focus more on the end-product and the implementation plan. The jury will be present during the two pitches. Dedicated coaches will provide necessary coaching on group-specific issues, facilities and scientific questions. The maximum number of contestants for this challenge is 50.

Technical information
We are still arranging datasets
